Following an extensive global search, SVG Ventures announced the 11 finalists that will compete for the THRIVE | Shell Climate-Smart Agriculture Challenge. The Challenge aims to identify and support top start-up and scale-up innovators who are driving the global transformation to climate-smart agriculture practices.
The startups will pitch to our judging panel comprised of representatives from Shell, THRIVE, John Deere and BASF and winners will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions at SXSW in Austin, Texas in March at the Shell House.
The 11 finalists, 5 from the United States, 3 from Canada, 1 each from Israel, Ireland, and Kenya have technologies focused across the three Challenge themes: enhance land, connect farms, and measure soil. They were selected from a global applicant pool in excess of 300 startups.
Awards will include up to $100k in non-dilutive funding and acceptance into the Shell GameChanger program, acceptance into the THRIVE Accelerator Programs, and the opportunity to be considered for additional investment from Shell Ventures.
